  I went to the Dover, NH DMV yesterday morning for my son's driver's test. From the minute we walked in to saying goodbye to the examiner at the end we were treated by friendly, helpful, courteous and professional people. Lines were short and we were in and out in about 1 1/2 hours for check in, both the written and practical exams and payment. Thanks for changing the DMV stereotype many of us know from years ago. See you in two years when our next child has a go at it.

  If I could give zero stars, I would. I had the most unhelpful experience at the Dover DMV. I am in the process of purchasing a car out of state that does not offer temporary plates for other states. I was told to get some from my local DMV. I brought in the paperwork for the car along with a purchase sale agreement between me and the dealer. The lady at the greeter desk, blonde approximately 40-50 years of age with I believe the last name Leonard, told me that because I haven't actually made the purchase and the paper doesn't contain signatures they could not issue me temp plates. I proceeded to ask her how I was supposed to legally drive the car back after my out of state purchase was complete and she replied with " I don't know... " and offered no suggestions or help to solve the issue. In my opinion that is an unacceptable answer. You work for the DMV... it is YOUR JOB to know.

  I had a great experience here transferring my license. Elise at the first desk wad great and Tammy was helpful and very friendly.
